Bu Tahrin wept at times while telling us her story. For 6 years, she ran from one town to the next, rejected by relatives and worried she would be captured, imprisoned or killed. In 1971 she managed to get a fake ID, and secured a job with the police. When she was asked for her school certificate in order to be promoted, she quit, worried she'd be "found out." She went on to spend most of her life as a teacher, and in 2005 joined activist efforts to tell the true story of 1965.
